Count down for pit lane closing bugged?
Hi,

I was doing last minute changes for the Monza GP and to be sure I had the time I frequently refreshed/reloaded PFRL pages to see the clock ticking the right time.

When the clock had 35 seconds left I pushed the save changes button. The clock immediately jumped from 35 seconds to zero seconds, giving a 'carage' page saying 'We are working - the access to the database is not possible at the moment...'. As a minimum, I lost possibility to catch points from qualification and for the best lap time.

Safe to say I felt utterly pissed off at that moment (and I still am) If this is about a bug or equivalent, please fix it.

Anyway, this game is fun to play and you're doing helluva job there, Maverick

I noticed one day that when I watch an opponent's team for example and then click on the page back button, the clock shows me about the same time left as before, as if the time didn't go on... but when I refresh the page, the clock will jump back to the real time. So I'm quite sure it works like it should if the page is refreshed the right way... but then I usually only do this for defensive strategies... like choosing an option I can live with before, and then check out if my opponent does something in the last minutes that makes me want to change my mind. But since you can change quali ranks and fastest lap as many times as you want to, I think it's better to have at least something there earlier, so in case it will be too late to change, there's still a chance for some points.

Hello Tedi

I am sorry that you have missed your last team changes.

But I am sure that the count down works fine. It's a JavaScript feature. That means that the script runs on your computer and not on the server. If JavaScript works properly on your PC, it counts down every second without the need of a page refreshment.

Also please be aware that it's a high risk to wait that long for the team changes. If something goes wrong (e. g.: internet connection fail) you have no chance to fix it anymore.
Because it's so much time between the races to do the team changes, you shouldn't do it in the last remaining seconds.

Maybe it's similar to the real sport in Qualifying: If a driver waits for his turn till close to the end of the session and a mistake or a yellow flag ruins his lap time, he wouldn't be able do a second try because of running out of time.

Kind regards
Maverick
