Unfortunately the tyre option this season has been very one sided thereby limiting choice and flexibility. Indeed this has happened before as well.

Is there scope and support to revise the scoring system here?

To make it less focused on victory but more on performance I would suggest the following amendments that retain the overall structure of 20 scoring points in total:

Qualification: 1 = 3pts, 2 = 2pts, 3 = 1pt

Race: 1 = 5pts, 2 = 3 pts, 3 = 2pts, 4 = 1pt, 5 = 1 pt, 6 = 1 pt, 7 = 1pt.

Comments on this are cordially invited.

I am happy to see you enjoy so much, Alan. And you definitely got the hang of it and improved your game to a point where just some luck will be needed to win a title... and we all cannot win without that. We only have an influence on how much luck we need.
Mercedes really impressed me, too, especially after the rather bad trainings. And sure, if there are still three rounds to go in group games and you are in a position where winning the group seems unrealistic but you're already almost safe to reach knockout stage and you still have to use prime tyres three times, then this might be a move to think about. It wasn't easy because it could also have compromised my chances in overall, but it worked out just fine.

I have seen you cleverly setting up your playoff picture with those prime tyre selections old friend (Gakra) lol. My thought from day one was that by that time Mercedes would be winning anyway.

The world must tip their hats to Mercedes. They epitomize what Formula One is all about. I have always loved the way Lewis accentuates the entire team right down to the janitors at the factory.

Having more fun this year than ever before.

Everyone enjoy the break and get ready for the exciting conclusion of the 2022 PureFantasyF1!

No one suggested to change the rules this year, but what I meant to say is that this is a problem of this season that might be solved by itself til next season, anyway.

George seems to agree with me.

I don't think there was any suggestion that the rules should be changed this season...as I read them, these ideas were aimed at the future.

I think a four tyre choice option alternative to Futchivai's scoring change concept might be easily achieved through the previous season's team standings. Teams 1 and 10, 2 and 9, 3 and 8, and teams 4,5,6 and 7 would present more interesting decisions - especially if each player is required to use each option 3 or 4 times a season.

A wide choice of component options invariably helps a game such as this.

Rules sure shouldn't be changed in the middle of the season, and next season the problem could already solve itself. I admit situation may not be ideal this season, but still there are lots of strategic decisions to be made:

- should I use option tyres all the way and hope Mercedes (or McLaren) will be a winning team at the end of the season?

- or should I use prime tyres early on so I will have a better chance to win a race towards the end of the season when most others will have to use prime?

- how do I get through cup and eliminator if I have to use prime tyres and when should I do that?

- or should I make sure that I (censored in order not to babble out my strategy)?

However, if a majority wanted a change and Maverick was okay with it, I would have no problem with that and would adapt my strategies to the new rules, as always.

David's idea of increasing the number of tyre options is an interesting alternative to Futchivai's concept of adjusting the point allocation - a idea with the merit of simplicity that I do not oppose.

However I reckon that 4 options based on the leading title contenders with one supporting team in 3 of them and two in the weakest option seems less complicated to effect than choices based on tyre compounds. And the compulsion to use them all at specified minimum levels during the season
seems appropriate.

Either way it seems the current system is not working and changes might be needed.

I am unclear which of the proposals Carlisle Frost is supporting but I am always interested in his ideas.

I will start by saying my understanding of PFRL is NOT in the detail, and perhaps I haven’t thought this through, but my initial response is I like the tyre choice to be based on availability and compulsion to use the differing types - just as in F1 itself.
For this reason I think I am in favour of restricting the choice by the need to use each type in a number of races. You could, of course, increase the minimum races for each types so it approaches 50:50
I guess you could also increase the number of types so that Prime and Option becomes Soft, Medium and Hard. Just a thought.

I think that's a good shout for next season and would support it. Interesting to see what others think!
